Membership & Trading

Q: What are a Member's transaction rights?
A: The fact that the transaction is conducted through the Exchange does not affect the rights or warranties imposed under common law or statute laws as between the buyer and seller of the goods and services traded. These rights include for example, a seller's implied warranties (such as the implied warranty that goods are of merchantable quality) as well as other rights arising under the laws relating to contracts, the sale of goods, consumer protection, fair trading, trade practices, product liability, negligence and fraud. In other words, a buyer's right to make a claim against a seller under these laws will not be lost simply because the transaction occurred within the Exchange.

Q: How can a Member keep track of his Account?
A: Intrex India performs the third party record-keeping and clearinghouse functions. When a transaction is completed the transacting Members account status is posted immediately. When a Member logs on to the website, he can check his current account balance on-line. At the end of a monthly accounting cycle, Intrex India mails Account Statements to members.

Q: Can a Member cancel his membership of the Exchange?
A: Members may cancel/resign their memberships as per the Exchange By-laws.

Q: Can a Member sell or transfer his membership?
A: Membership cannot be transferred. However, if a Member sells his business, a written application must be sent to Intrex India for transfer of membership to the new owner.

Q: Can my membership be suspended or terminated by the Exchange?
A: Membership may be suspended / terminated at the discretion of the Exchange Management under conditions mentioned in the Exchange by-laws.
